Established in the ancient city of Tomis where poet Ovid was exiled, this year the Annual Lecture on Exile in Comparative Literature and the Arts – ALECLA 2021, is withstanding the COVID-19 crisis by extending to Central Asia.

The conference includes plenary sessions, workshops, round-table discussions, and other events that will take place in Constanta, Romania, and cities in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. Some of the events will be held in the virtual space. Much of the program will be self-generated by the seminar organizers and paper submitters, faculty, and graduate students who will propose seminars and papers via our web pages.

ALECLA 2021 will go with Constanta Literature and the Arts Festival – CLAFest 2021, which will take place between 1-31 October 2021. This year, CLAFest will feature free hybrid events, live and live online, for any age – including book launches, shows, readings, recitals, workshops, masterclasses, musical performances, and dance. CLAFest 2021 intends to be an opportunity for artists and writers to revitalize old and simple means of expression. Most of the program will be self-generated by its participants. To propose participation in the festival, please contact the Secretariat at friends@anticusmulticultural.org
